Community Mailing List

The purpose of this mailing list is to promote interaction between Asia-Dragonfly.net and Africa-Dragonfly.net members. Send you mails to:

community@list.asia-dragonfly.net

But first, you need to join the list, i.e. to subscribe to the mailing list. Please follow these steps:

1. Open your Email client and create a new message.
2. Enter listsrv@list.asia-dragonfly.net as the To address (for both Asia and Africa members: we share the same mailing list).
3. Enter "subscribe community" in the body of your message
4. Leave the subject of the message blank. If your mail program requires text in the subject field, enter random characters.
5. Send the email; you will receive a confirmation if you successfully subscribed.

ATTENTION:  ****  important  ****
The community list e-mail address contains “@list.”. This causes some anti-spam software to consider (by default) all the received mails as spam. Thus the mails are stored on a special spam folder or discarded, and you never see them.

Therefore ensure that list.asia-dragonfly.net is not considered as a ‘spamer’. Usually, check your spam folder for the first messages from the list and click on a “NOT A SPAM” button (or some other equivalent action). Thereafter the mails will go to your inbox without trouble.

Special note: if you have a mailbox like YAHOO.COM, you need to connect on the webpage and perform the same manipulation online.

Some useful list commands
Commands are addressed to listsrv@list.asiadragonfly.net , not the community list.
The command must be in the e-mail’s body. The subject is ignored.

1) To unsubscribe (i.e. leave the list), please follow these steps:

- Open your Email client and create a new message.
- Enter listsrv@list.Asia-Dragonfly.net as the To address.
- Enter "unsubscribe community” in the body of your.
- Leave the subject of the message blank. If your mail program requires text in the subject field, enter random characters.
- Send the email; you will receive a confirmation if you successfully unsubscribed.

2) Activate or deactivate the digest mode:
 - “Set mode digest community”: Sets your email address to receive emails in digest mode, which will send all messages for the list combined into one email on a daily basis.
- “Set mode standard community”: Sets your email address to receive emails in standard mode (the default), which will send messages one at a time to your email account.
